The Future of VR in games will be a mash-up of real and unreal

The year did not turn out as promising as was predicted for the virtual reality. There have been words going around that VR headsets are likely to give the real-time concert experience to the audience even if they are physically absent from the occasion or are sitting at the back of the auditorium yet get a feeling of catching the action on stage from the first row. Concertgoers need to just insert their phones into an appropriate head-mounted case and start a specific application. This is undoubtedly an opportunity for the mobile application developers in the long run.

Wisconsin’s first Omni Virtual Reality opened sometime in the mid of January at StoneFire Pizza to give a totally immersive experience to the viewers. It is a game console where the player has to put on a headgear, harness, special sensor shoes and holding controls. Brandon Sanderson’s Stormlight Archives Series comes with a new VR experience to immerse the players into an entire make-believe world. What will be the future of gaming industry?
This particular technology once already met with the fatal deaths in the 90s. However, the current era is unlikely to let go of Virtual and Augmented Reality anytime soon. Back in the 90s, it was more of a gimmick possible only in theory or films like Jurassic Park-1. But, now it is a viable technology. Irrespective of the hurdles, the future looks brighter yet completely mashed up. The above examples raise possibilities of a future where the youth will remain completely immersed in the virtual environment owing to the addictive virtual reality component so much that their real world and virtual world will be completely mashed up.

This is only possible if more audience shipped in to try out the VR headsets. The high price has compelled many users to steer away from even attempting to try it. The high-price issue, however, is countered by the companies resulting in the massive drop in the price of the VR gears.

HTC reduced the price of its VIVE system to $599.
Samsung Gear VR priced at $99.
Google Cardboard costs around $15.

Reduction in price can be the ultimate contributing factor to promote Virtual Reality technology in a broad way.
