If you’ve been thinking about picking up a Google Pixel 2 but waiting for the right deal to come along, then EE might have just what you’re looking for.
For £47.99 a month you can get your hands on the 64GB version of the smartphone as well as 15GB of data and unlimited texts and calls. There’s no upfront cost, but you do need to sign up for a 24-month deal.
EE will give you access to its fastest speeds and offers inclusive roaming across the European Union and in five other countries – Australia, Canada, Mexico, New Zealand and the USA.
Other perks include 24 months’ access to the BT Sport app, which shows live Premier League and UEFA Champions League football, as well as domestic and European rugby and a range of other sports including MotoGP.
On top of that, there’s a free six-month subscription to Apple Music, so you can stream and download music to your heart’s content, especially since the app doesn’t count against your considerable 15GB allowance.
Customers who also sign up for EE’s home broadband service get a mobile data boost of between 5GB and 50GB.
The Google Pixel 2 launched last year and is the company’s current flagship smartphone and is a more iterative update on the original device.
A refined design sees the five inch display run edge-to-edge, while Google has added stereo speakers and removed the 3.5mm headphone jack. To use headphones, you’ll need an adapter for the USB-Type C port or invest in a set of wireless buds.
The Pixel 2 has smart features to optimise battery life and runs Android 8.0 Oreo with Google Assistant. There’s also the seriously impressive 12 megapixel camera with technology that will let anyone take professional looking photos.
There are three colours to choose from – black, white or blue.
EE is the UK’s largest operator both in terms of subscriber and coverage, with its 4G network covering 99% of the population and 86% of the geographic area of the UK. It has committed to increasing this to 95% by the end of the decade.
If you want to pair the Google Pixel 2 with another bit of Google kit, then EE has another deal for you. EE will let new and upgrading customers add the Google Daydream VR2 to their monthly bill for an additional £9 a month.
The Daydream VR2 is an updated version of Google’s first generation headset and plays VR content from your smartphone. Place your handset into the device, slip it on your head and play games, watch movies, and access Google applications such as YouTube and Google Earth.
The headset differentiates itself from the competition by placing a strong emphasis on comfort. It is made from soft, breathable fabric, while the face pad can be washed by hand so you can easily clean it and hygienically share it with friends.
